About A B Cooke Motor Body Repairs

Founded in 1982 by Andy Cooke, the company moved from their original premises in Little London, Newport when local shopping development on the adjacent Riverway Industrial Estate made a move necessary. The relocation to their new premises in Saunders Drive, Somerton was made in 2007, and they continue to trade from there today.

The business is run by Andy and his business partner Ross Wilson, together with Ian Scott, their paint refinisher and the rest of their dedicated staff.

Andy Cooke, 63, was the founder of the business in 1982, when he commenced trading from the original Little London premises. Andy is a keen biker, and his main interest is Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's. With the help of some good friends, he has restored a 1976 Honda CB750 K6, a 1976 Kawasaki Z900 A4, a 1979 Suzuki GS1000 EN and a Honda CB750 F1. He is also a long-suffering West Ham fan, attending as many home and away games as he can. Andy is very proud of the status of the business in the Island community, and his top priority is to ensure that all the work they carry out is of the highest standards of quality and value. He says, "Over the years we have had vast experience and have established a good reputation on the Island"
Ross Wilson, 43, has worked with Andy for 15 years, and became a partner in the business in 2003. Ross enjoys historic rallying, and has restored a Mark 1 Ford Escort to full historic rally trim. He is also an expert in the repair and refinishing of much more modern vehicles and is a firm believer in using the most modern equipment and techniques to obtain the best possible finish and results.
Ian Scott, 32, joined the business as an apprentice some years ago, and is now a senior paint refinisher, contibuting his own highly developed skills to the team, and promoting the same ideals of customer service and value as the partners. Like Andy, Ian is a keen West Ham fan and goes to as many matches as he can, home and away. He also keeps fit with working out and running, and in his leisure time enjoys snooker and darts.
